Gratefulness or Bitter Feelings?

Abundance in America.. no reason to be bitter.

Magazines, online news and all kinds of places are running polls to find out how "bitter" Americans are. The furor began when Barack Hussein Obama said that Pennsylvanians, well small town people, were bitter and tended to lean on religion , guns and bigotry to get through.

Well I am not bitter Mr. Obama. Some young 'uns might be... from the new spoiled generation but, I think most of us are pretty happy frankly... and if not, shame on us since we should be!!!

When I was a little girl milk ran through the streets of middle America because the haul of cow's milk was so great that there was no room to store all that was left after storage of years and years worth and after supplying it free to a hungry world.

Silos were filled with years and years worth of grain to the brim and multiple feet of it flowed around the bottoms... again, after everyone was full and more than plenty was sent around the world to feed the nations gratis.

We have the richest wine soils in the world. Our dairies are second to none, our beef cattle the best, our cheeses are health giving and nutritious, the orchards that stretch from sea to shining sea are brilliant and aromatic giving us peaches and apples, nuts, oranges, lemons, limes, and every fruit good to eat can be grown here.

We have forests that encompass billions of acres and pristine land untouched by human hands, some of it never yet explored or seen by men. We have crystal clear waters , streams , creeks, springs, oceans and bays filled with all manner of fish and life. Deer and bear so plentiful we cant handle them all!

It was in our beginning that millions upon millions of buffalo thundered across the plains and millions of carrier pigeons literally darkened the skies as they flew over ..sometimes taking days to do so.

The bay by me is filled in fall with swans with 10 ft wing spans .. and geese of every hue and color. The piney woods around me are filled with birds of every description, deer, possum, fox, mink, otter, wood chuck, moles and voles, raccoon and bear and even now mountain lions are returning. Hawks circle overhead daily in the early afternoon lazily looking for food and huge osprey and sea eagles make their nests in the high poles that dot the sides of the salt marshes.

From the Atlantic to the Pacific.. from the Canadian border to the Gulf of Mexico and California there is plenty and freedom from want for any who are enterprising and seek it.

Our poorest folk have more than many in most nations and we have so much that too much is wasted often.

We supply our own and have not neglected to supply the world either with food and charity of all sorts. America has fed the entire world.

What have we to be bitter about Mr. Obama?

Our television sets, ipods, cars, homes... 3 bedrooms on average... Our free world class education and universities? Our beautiful farms and parks, beaches, resorts, our plentiful job opportunities? Should we be bitter that a poor man can rise to become a millionaire with hard work and good ideas? Maybe we can be bitter over the right to vote and exercise of free speech?

There isn't a whole lot to be bitter about unless you have mental problems.

We have the finest medical care bar none in all the world and NO ONE is turned away , despite Miss Hillary's fairytale to the contrary...that is against the law.

Opportunity abounds, and there is something for everyone who is willing to work for it.No one is starving in the entire country despite more fairytales that are told. We do, however, have a weight problem!!

If there were things to be bitter about.... then why in the world do people take their very lives into their hands to come here??? So they can also be bitter Mr Obama?

You are bitter Mr. O, as is your wife Michelle who feels that she was not treated right by affirmative action, something you espouse.. but which, as proven by your wife... backfires!!!

After many years of intense study I have concluded to my entire satisfaction that America is Yosef(Joseph) and also houses a good many from the other shevatim(tribes) as well. Believe what you will, the evidence is overpowering. But, whether it is or not, it is still the finest nation the world has ever seen, with the greatest abundance, wealth, opportunity and freedoms ever known to mankind and I wouldn't call that anything to be bitter about.

I call it something to rejoice about.

He is a very bad man in my opinion.
He is communistic and racist.
I just don't like him very much at all.

The sad part is the white man came through and nearly devastated the country out of greed. They should have listened to the Indians and learned about conservation. Our beavers, trees, etc. would have appreciated it. :]

Sad part 2 (boy ain't I a wet banket! ROFL) Farms are closing left and right and the farms that do remain can't afford more than a cow or two.

Crop failures from droughts and flooding are killing us - especially in corn and hay. Farmers are asking this year how they'll afford to grow crops because fertilizer is nearly beyond their means.

To give you an idea of the sitch, Mom was asked by another farmer here lately if he could come clean out our barn so he can have fertilizer. Thankfully, our horse poops alot. :] This is what they're doing to survive.

I think before the years out, city folks are going to feel what's happening out here.

When we came to this nation .. and among my family are some here from long ago.. the buffalo (no cholesterol.. low fat, light taste)(can you tell I LOVE it?YES you can find it and 100% kosher)were plentiful enough to have fed us til this day. We did not need cattle ranches really.
We had enough to sustain us if managed right.
We had over 2 feet of thick rich top soil and humus on the ground.
We needed to practice a "land sabbath" to maintain it.
I believe sin will continue to whittle away at these blessings and the more the US fools with Israel, the more we and they will lose,

Interesting point: since I believe the USA is primarily Joseph, just consider that the 2 areas the US pressures Israel to give away are the very pieces of land that were in the portions given to Menashe!
How hideous that is!

We need to keep ourselves very close to Hashem now.

This is my favorite LLM header yet! All lilac!

Can I tell you how much I adore lilacs? How my old backyard had three huge lilac bushes (more like trees actually, they were huge)? How sweet it was to write in my upstairs apartment with the window wide open and that wonderful aroma filling the air.

For two weeks every May we were treated to the lovely fragrance. Lilacs were the unofficial flower of the West Side of Buffalo. Even my high school's football team was called the Lafayette High School Violets (because of the lilacs in front of the school that bloomed every May).

Sorry if that is OT. The header just brought up wonderful memories. Just goes to show Mr. Obama that people who struggle financially and with other problems do see beauty in the world and do have gratitude towards G-d.

What he doesn't quite get is that people cling to G-d out of love and faith and gratitude.

The US is truly blessed compared to most other parts of the world. People of the Dalit (sp) caste in India would consider themselves quite wealthy if they lived in even the most impoverished part of the US.
