Obama and the New America

Charles Krauthammer states that Barack Obama has no foreign policy aspirations as president, hence his centrist foreign policy team.
I disagree. I don't disagree that he has no aspirations to be a foreign policy president but I disagree that he even has the mind to consider such things. I disagree that these are his own ideas not just on foreign policy but on the domestic as well.

When he was not reading from teleprompters he had no ideas of his own and even those that came from his speech writers and advisors were not top of the line thought but rather banal and trite rhetoric that promote a feel good atmosphere. Remember Chris Matthews' thrill up his legs?
His vague ideas involve fixing the economy and creating a permanent feel good atmosphere across the nation. Jobs will be invented, while corporations that employ people are shut down and hammered with taxes or allowed to drift overseas. People will work for Father Government instead.
Government involvement, however, is what caused our economic woes. The Federal Reserve, which is NOT a government agency but a private institution sanctioned by the government is a major source of our monetary troubles.
The answer to economic trouble is to allow the economy to seek it's own level and stay the heck out of things. Artificially raising and lowering the dollar by printing worthless paper based on nothing but hot air doesn't work. People will work/not work, prosper/not prosper, raise and lower prices on their own according to what they need/want.
The world has come to somehow believe it is entitled to prosperity. Prosperity is something you work toward and it comes and goes in cycles. It was for that reason that G-d instituted a yovel(jubilee) cycle. It is a law of nature that a depressed economy occurs about once every 50 years.
Today, people are unwilling to go through a bit of hard times in order to bring back great prosperity. They want it fixed NOW. After all, its the generation of fast food, fast internet , fast living. We wait for nothing and no one!
Obama wants a feel good nation with a Fatherly strong central government that will provide for the every need of its helpless children. This is not freedom or liberty or good sense, but it is serfdom.
Lyndon Johnson's Great Society was a failure in spades. FDR, Johnson, Carter helped to put this nation behind the 8 ball economically with bad socialistic ideas that never worked at all.
Still as King Solomon says, there is nothing new under the sun .. and the world keeps trying the same old same old over and over again like a broken record.
What Obama wants is a changed, socialistic United States. He wants a completely different nation. His statements and those of his wife tell the tale of a bitter couple who despise the nation that brought them up into prosperity and opportunity. It is never enough and it was not the way they fantasized it should be, so bitterness became rooted in them. They aren't alone in this, though. Many socialists share that same bitter root.
Obama has no real plans for this change, however. It is just nebulous beliefs on his part as evidenced by his speeches. He does have handlers who do have ideas though and they will use him to implement changes that they have desired in the US goverment since the 1930s and the advent of Communist influence in the nation.
Khrushchev said that he would "bury" the US. Well, the introduction of so many Communist sympathizers and downright instigators into the nation have already begun to do that.
Communism/socialism are death knells to any society. They do not prosper nor succeed. Witness the Soviet Union and China's dire poverty. Witness the troubles of Europe and its highway robber taxes.
Barack has surrounded himself with such people like Bill Ayers the commie wannabe who hates the nation, Rev Wright ditto, and the silent supposed partner, George Soros whose whole intention is lining his own pockets at the expense of people and nations. His focus is totally on self. The Clintons , also socialists in the rough, are also influences on Obama.
Ted Kennedy, who tried to make private deals with the USSR, is also a terrible influence on Obama the man with 'deals' I don't say his ideals are right ideals but I do believe Obama has ideals of his own about what is and isn't right and wrong. He is a product of a jumbled raising, not an unusual thing in the America of his time. Baby Boomers were the generation that was born between 1946-1964. His mother was born in 1943.. pre boomer but still within its range of influence. Obama himself is a boomer.
Early boomers remembered the stories of WW2. They lived with Korea and the cold war and then Vietnam and Iraq. There seemed to be no end of war war war.
The milk was tainted with Strontium 90 and DDT was blamed for all kinds of ills and even hexachlorophene was removed from soap(to teen dismay) because it was said to harm people. Even the world seemed toxic!!
They were raised with the threat of Communism and atomic bombs, Korea, Viet Nam and hatred for the constant specter of war around them. This built up in them a dislike for anything that smacked of authority and government because authority and government seemed to cause those things. Adults had too much interest in comfort and plenty and money was too important.
It never occurred to boomers that their parents had grown up with the deprivation of the depression and the strict rationing of WW2.
The government had brought the world to the brink of the abyss and was not to be trusted. Kids waited while holding their breath as the clock ticked to the appointed time during the Bay of Pigs Stand off.Schools came to a stand still as kids huddled waiting for the beginning of nuclear world war three.
Kennedy was taken from them, along with his high ideals and vision, Robert was not far behind and his view of a great egalitarian society with freedom from want was dead with him. Martin Luther King and his vision of love and equality were silenced with a bullet also. Nixon was a crook. Chicago was a joke of corruption and dead people voting. New York City was a hell hole of crime and dirt.
The boomer babies had enough. They were born as WW2 was ending and their childhood was lived in the darkness of the ugly Korean war. That ended but their teen years were shadowed over by the specter of service in war in South East Asia the the US seemed unwilling to win. There was not a family who had not been touched by WW2, Korea and now Viet Nam. Boys were desperate about the hideous lottery that would determine if they lived , died or got maimed.
Boys who graduated had a very real possibility of being dead within another year, or maimed for life.
This had a profound effect on the boomers and is one reason why they are almost diametrically opposite to the parents who raised them or in the case of one like Obama, very influenced by them and their new ideals. Those ideals focused on anything that was not the "man" or the "establishment".
Their parents , who had won WW 2 and fought Hitler and Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan were not heroes to them, but stodgy fellows who were far too interested in prosperity.
It never occurred to them that the lack of prosperity of the 20s and 30s and the horrors of WW2 were reasons why their parents were so interested in giving the good life to their children.
So that generation even up to kids of the early 60s seems to have developed a hatred and distrust for anyone in authority and for the status quo. They blame it for all the ills of the world.
I think Obama and his wife are in that category. They have an idea that is flawed from it's birth but that is so surrounded by feel good sayings that it's hard to discern how wrong it really is. Their life of relative ease and privilege has spoiled them and yet, at the same time given them deep feelings of guilt over what they had ...what came so easily. The idea of "giving back" is from this generation, isn't it?
All of this makes Mr. Obama easy to use, easy to manipulate. He has a nice personality. He is friendly, outgoing and easy going. He is filled with ideals... though heavily flawed ideals and that makes for a good puppet. His dislike of America's past ideals are fertile ground for reorganizing the Constitution.
I don't think Obama is in charge of anything. I don't think he can be. I do think he is going to be used as a mouth piece for far more predatory men than he could ever be.
Foreign policy doesn't interest him much, no. But that is because he wants a soft, feel good place to rest himself and his family. Again, its a flawed vision of that place to be sure, but he can't see that. His mother married a black man which was in those days a revolutionary thing to do.
People married outside their own race to show solidarity and acceptance more often than for love. Those days were a time of showing parents and previous generations how liberal and world-embracing people really could be.
Well it sounds very high minded, but in the end it just does not work. Nor will his plans for the economy. He has already stated that Americans should not expect the problems to go away in four years!!! He is being told by his advisers that it can't go away in 4 years and indeed, with socialistic ideas at the helm, it will not go away anytime soon and in fact, will deepen and worsen.
Change is in the wind, but it is not change based on time proven values and ideas, but on the shifting ground of iffy ideals.
