"If it took God one week to make the Earth, going by mass it would take him two quintillion years to build this thing..."
Had to share this very interesting piece about the Sloan Great Wall.
You'll find it HERE.
And more explanation of it HERE and also HERE.
What is a quintillion?
It looks like this: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 .. 18 zeros.
If it were pennies, it would weight 3,125,000,000,000 tons and it would stand 986,426,767,677 miles high.
How long do I think it would take him? Just as long as it would take him to give the command. Seconds? Miliseconds? Far less than that? Sure.
I think he took 6 days not because it took him that long but because he had a purpose for the time. But the point of the quintillion is to give us an idea of the utter vastness of it all and how complicated it is.
The Mega Penny Project will show you how those quintillion pennies look here
At their site you can compare how large numbers are by seeing them in pennies. Very interesting to see.

that certainly is big
ReplyDeleteTwo quintillion, the same as the amount of the U.S. debt if someone doesnt eject the monkey from his seat pretty soon...
ReplyDeleteWe did in 2008, moron.
DeleteG-d puts leaders in power. He makes them, he breaks them.
ReplyDeleteT'filla L'Moshe Ish HaElohim T'hilim 90 A prayer of Moshe the man of God Psalm 90
ReplyDelete.. for from your viewpoint a thousand years are merely like yesterday or a night watch.
I believe he created the heavens and the earth ...already "was". the oak tree he created already with acorns the moment it was created. So it was one second old, and it was 2000 years old. Both true.
G-d is not confined to any limits. He wears no watch. Nor can the heaven of heavens contain Him ( 1 Kings 8:27 )
comment: if G-d "ended" his work on the seventh day, will he "end" this cosmic experiment on the seven "thousndth" year if one day is with him as a thousand years.. what do you think? Zichron T'ruah perhaps? Even so, come quickly Adonai (Rickademas@gmail.com)
The Mishkan was only to be built for 6 days. We rest from building on the 7th.
DeleteAt the end of the 6th "day" the mishkan will be finished and the 7th will begin where it is all finished.
wow, what other amazing fairy tales can you come up with? How about take it to the "Middle Ages" page and leave the science for the educated grown ups.
DeleteFlying Spaghetti Monster says hi.
Why the nasty comment? You can't just comment on something without insults and put downs?
DeleteWhere do you think the science came from, chum? Some magical atheists?
DeleteBut we can always leave the science to grown ups like Pythagoras.
"Pythagoreanism was the system of esoteric and metaphysical beliefs held by Pythagoras and his followers, the Pythagorean cult, who were considerably influenced by mathematics.
Pythagorean thought was dominated by mathematics, and it was profoundly mystical. In the area of cosmology there is less agreement about what Pythagoras himself actually taught, but most scholars believe that the Pythagorean idea of the transmigration of the soul is too central to have been added by a later follower of Pythagoras.
The Pythagoreans are known for their theory of the transmigration of souls, and also for their theory that numbers constitute the true nature of things. They performed purification rites and followed and developed various rules of living which they believed would enable their souls to achieve a higher rank among the gods."
Please go be with the grown ups now.
1 Kings 8:27 refers to wearing a watch? Are you sure you're not bending facts to fit the fairytale?
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you're not trolling with no place to go?
