Facebook is Watching

Facebook plans to give deep access to it's members'  private messages and posts to Politico so they can determine the trend of political mind sets. Are you for Romney, Paul?   People demand to know and will seemingly go to any length to find out even  invading your privacy to do it.
No one should trust private communications to any online site or person ever at all. Not ever.

According to the Politico facebook site,
WASHINGTON, DC - January 12, 2012 - POLITICO is joining forces with Facebook to offer its readers an exclusive look at the conversation taking place on the social networking site about the Republican presidential candidates ahead of South Carolina’s crucial primary on Jan. 21.

Facebook will measure mentions of the candidates in U.S. users' posts and comments as well as assess positive and negative sentiments expressed about them. Facebook’s data team will use automated software tools frequently used by researchers to infer sentiment from text. This aggregate information will be exclusively available on POLITICO with analysis by its journalists.

The ugly potential for this should be clear and note the word 'infer'.  That should send shivers down your spine.

People don't read books anymore. They read "Twitter" and "Facebook" updates. That's why the world is as it is.
People have more labor saving devices nowadays and less time than ever to use them. Some internet activities are time wasters and soul eaters.
