Now the "Kids" say good bye to Clarabell. Lew Anderson dies at 84.

On September 24, 1960 the clown sidekick of Buffalo Bob Smith and Howdy Doody uttered his first and last words on the show after a run of
2243 episodes.
Clarabell, played by Lew Anderson, tears in his eyes, said, "Goodbye, kids" and the program that helped raise the baby boom generation was gone.

Clarabell died this past Sunday at the age of 84.

Goodbye, Clarabell... the peanut gallery wishes you God speed.

  2. BTW Lemom, the music playing right now is beautiful. Did you choose it to coincide with this post?

If you did, what a lovely memorial to Clarabell.

  4. I like it very much, the tribute and the music:) It is very soothing and comforting. I'm leaving it on while I do some writing :)

  5. I try to fit music to the tone of the blog or to my own mood.
Sometimes I just want to share something lovely with people.
I do try to put the name and artist or composer on the mini-player i made which you will find on the right side of the page. I am going to now label it Music so people will be alert to it.
It has a scrolling marquee on it that I try to put the name on.
I am thrilled if the blog makes people happy or serves them in any way and I so appreciate the input.

  6. By the way, the music player has on and off and pause controls if the music is ever annoying.
Its usually set to play 2 to 4 times, except for the ocean sounds which I loop infinitely.
