Meteor Impact

Russian meteor impact crater and explosion sounds. Updated with new video and newer information. Including reports that Russia actually shot at the meteor due to its large size.

The meteor's impact injured 1,100 people around Chelyabinsk in the Urals.
4000 buildings sustained damage and 77,220 square miles of glass was broken by the shock waves and sound blasts.
Authorities estimate $33BILLION dollars in damage.
According to KTLA news, "The space agency also increased the estimated amount of energy released in the meteor’s explosion from about 300 to nearly 500 kilotons. By comparison, the nuclear bomb the United States dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 released an estimated 15 kilotons of energy."
It must have been a terrifically frightening thing to witness. I wonder if some thought it might be an attack of some kind.
200 of the injured were little children.

Update video:

Sound of the impact begins around 28 seconds into the 2nd video and residual crashes from other broken bits of meteor can be heard continuing as they fall.
