Environmental Solutions

Hosea 4:3
Therefore the land
Mourns,
all who live in it languish
together with the wild birds and animals
even fish in the sea
are
perishing

Star fish are ripping themselves limb from limb.
Sardines are gone from the Pacific.
Sea captains report seeing no life for vast stretches in the oceans that were once teeming with life.
Fish, birds and aquatic mammals are dying at a fast clip and worst of all cancer rates, especially for children in Japan, are soaring out of control.
California is getting more radiation than the water at Fukushima.
Yet, this news is on the back pages of newspapers,or found in blurbs here and there hidden from mainstream view because no one wants to face the cold hard truth of why the world is in the state it is in.
Man is responsible for it all.
Ending the destruction of the earth rests squarely on the shoulders of mankind.
It applies to the whole world.
"There is no truth or mercy,
and no knowledge of G-d in the land;
there is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery;
they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed."(Hosea)

It is about truth, mercy and knowledge of G-d all of which involve the heart and real change rather than lip service and platitudes.

Neither science nor politics can solve these problems.  It is out of their league and, frankly, they are also part of the problem today. No, I can go further and say politics is a living picture of lack of truth, mercy, justice, knowledge of G-d, lying, stealing, murders and adultery!
 The world's problems begin in the individual and until individuals begin to change and learn to speak and do truth, mercy, cleanliness of mouth, heart and attitude, things will continue to decay.

Would the world of our day be familiar to Noah?     It is a scary thought.

    for sometime i did not read news on fukushima. some are writing we are making a mountain out of a mole hill. i dont think so. there is radiation in the world, an amount Hashem has placed for the betterment. what man had added is to kill G-d's creations. its all very sad. where i live, cruelty to animals is the norm. we do what we can to feed the strays and give them medication in their food. we cant go near them. trying to change adults is very difficult. it has to start with making children aware so they dont follow the footsteps of the wrong doing adults. thanks for the input. if only Mosiach would come now.

  2. Oh, I feel your distress; and I don't know what to do feeling helpless, other than blogging about it.

  3. Unfortunately many people look at me incredulously when I tell them this. They are dumbfounded and act like it's not a big deal..They still think it's ok to eat fish from so many places...They do not think about fish migration. They do not think about air and the traveling molecules. They do not want to think about California's coastal areas with dying and bleeding ocean mammals etc...
    I have heard that the USDA is not testing fish. In my opinion, they probably are, yet they do not want to release the info....$$$$$ would kill the industry. So, I just don't buy it....THe environment, though...once species go extinct- that's it.

    So frightening, but the silver lining is that these are indications of all that was foretold by our Neviim that will happen before the coming of Moshiach. May it be speedily with mercy!

    If Eliyahu Hanavi came strolling down the street and started trying to make us straighten up and prophecied, how long before we locked him up and pumped him full of antipsychotics?
